Bosphorus, Boğaziçi in Turkish, is the name given to the area between Black Sea and Marmara sea, Asia and Europe coasts on both sides. Bosphorus is a Greek word meaning ox ford and is being used in different western languages with minor pronunciation differences. Based on the Turkish databases, the area has been names as Boğaziçi, IskenderBoğazı (Alexander Bosphorus), KonstantiniyeBoğazı (Constantine Bosphorus), IslambolBoğazı (IslambolBosphorus) and Boğaz.
