CEREMONIAL KESKEK TRADITION
Keşkek ritual is a dish rite performed within the principles determined by the tradition based on the joint labor and sharing in mainly traditional wedding ceremonies, aids, charities, rain prayers. In this ritual, a dish called “keşkek” is cooked with wheat and meat in huge caldrons on open fire and served by collective work and participation of women and men groups. Before and during keşkek is cooked, the wheat and then meal is beaten in a fixed rhythm and this forms the symbolism of ritual.
