Asure is a dessert cooked on the 10th day of Muharrem month of Islamic calendar. As to the Islamic belief, on the 10th day of Muharrem month, Noah prepared this dessert with the last remaining ingredients when he landed after the great flood. Basically it is made with water, wheat, pea, sugar, beans and rice. Dried fruits, nuts and spices like walnut, dried fig, dried grape, dried apricot, almond, pine nut, sesame, pomegranate and cinnamon are used for decoration.
